Turbines are essential pieces of equipment. They require careful maintenance and ongoing repair work to ensure they’re operating as intended. Turbine borescopes aid in this process. Remote visual inspection tools are non-destructive and allow operators to inspect turbines without time-consuming disassembly processes. Turbine borescopes feature high-resolution cameras that are mounted to insertion tubes or a flexible rod. The flexibility can come in handy when inspecting hard to reach spaces. Conversely, a rigid borescope can be useful when inspecting overhead. Whatever your inspection duties demand, there’s a borescope right for the job.
Why Use Turbine Inspection Cameras?
Technicians rely on turbine borescope inspections to preserve the integrity of their equipment. Gas and steam turbines run at high pressures and must be kept in good condition to perform as intended. Proper maintenance inspections play a big role in ensuring the functionality of turbines. Inspections can be time-consuming and expensive, especially if underlying issues aren’t located on first inspection. That’s why so many professionals rely on hazardous environment borescopes to get the job done right every time.
Turbine borescopes such as flexible borescopes allow inspection experts to locate and diagnose duct issues fast. This makes for shorter appointment times and the ability to service more customers. Turbine inspection cameras help identify recurring issues, decreased air flow, and duct issues. A wide range of borescope tools and accessories allow the operator to tailor their use for each inspection job they take on. For instance, to inspect small cavities, a .4mm diameter micro borescope might be best or for larger pipes and tubes, an inspection professional might rely on either a 4mm borescope, 6mm borescope or even a 8 mm borescope. Portable inspection cameras, on the other hand, make it easy to pack up and transport inspection equipment from one job site to the next. Whatever the job demands, there’s sure to be a borescope that’s perfect for the inspection.
